Viewpoint of Marjorie from the Sauternes, Graves and Landes of Gironde Tourism Office:
“This circuit that is between historical and vineyard châteaux will enchant both young and old in search of adventure and conviviality!”
Easily recognizable by its pale green shutters, the chateau Pont de Brion embodies a fine family history on the left bank of the Garonne River. One discovers wines of three colors from the property in the Langon area with Charlotte, representing the 5th generation.
Veritable enthusiasts of the left bank, one may appreciate Chateau Brondelle for both the excellent quality of its wines (in 3 colors) but also for its family atmosphere, two main features that nicely symbolize the region.
Located in Mazères, the Chateau Roquetaillade la Grange is managed by 3 brothers who are passionate about wine. During a visit of this lovely family property, a veritable eye-opener while discovering the dizzying barrel cellar on six levels!
This fortress that has been conserved in an exceptional state by the same family in Mazères for the last 800 years, reveals surprising things – often signed off by Viollet le Duc -and teaches us a bit more about our historical connection with the Pope Clément V.
Following in the footsteps of Henry the 4th and Queen Margot, the Royal Castle of Cazeneuve in Préchac, is the ideal stop for families. Located on the Ciron riverbank, this large historical castle that is superbly restored, never fails to impress.
